Another big-name manufacturer has opened a facility in Sheffield! William Cook, a company who design and manufacture components for the energy, defence, rail, and aerospace sectors, has opened a new £6 million factory on Parkway Avenue. This new facility will combine “3D printing and casting technology to manufacture complex components” and is set to create 200 new jobs for the area.
The founding of William Cook dates back to the 19th Century, and its’ Yorkshire roots can be traced back to Sheffield in 1883, when a steel castings factory was opened.
Chairman of William Cook, Sir Andrew Cook, has said that: “This is not only an investment in our family company, but also in our employees, customers, suppliers and the city of Sheffield.”
The new facility was opened by Sheffield’s own Lord Coe, a British Politician and Olympic Medallist, as William Cook have been supporting his charity, the Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation.
Here at Industrial Personnel, we are very excited to have another great manufacturer on our doorstep.
